All through school, internship and everything in between, I have read about NYSC, and formed my opinions of it. I belonged to the group of people that believed it was a program that has had its original motives defeated already. Although I was mostly unperturbed at the time, since it seemed so far off, before I would at least have to participate in it. I didn't know why, but I felt as far as NYSC was concerned, I was insulated in a way from it. Do not ask me why, It was just a hunch that the program has got nothing on me. However, that was to change when it finally caught up with me; and it was now time to serve. I knew nothing about NYSC; and all I was used to seeing, were my people posing in their khaki wears and some others talking about their experiences in camp.
